Due to quarantine issues, there is an increasing need for students to have Chromebook access at home. Beginning Monday, October 5th, seventh grade students started bringing devices and chargers home. Eighth graders will begin bringing devices and chargers home in the upcoming days. This does not change how devices are used in the classroom; teachers will continue to post assignments and resources to Canvas as they have been throughout the school year.
Because of the need for the devices, and this change being implemented during the middle of the school year, there will not be an insurance fee due. Seventh graders will be assigned a new device and will be assigned the same device next year as eighth graders. In order to maximize the life of the devices, it is important that students take care of them to minimize damage. Students are responsible for the care of the device they have been assigned, and will be required to pay for the loss or damage of the device and/or charger.
Below is a link to an updated copy of the middle school’s Technology User Agreement Policy. This copy does not need to be signed; it is simply an update to the policy signed by students prior to receiving a device at the beginning of the school year. The document contains information relevant to students having access to their devices outside of the school day. Devices should be used only by the student to access classroom assignments and resources and is intended only for educational purposes.
